Greece consists of a peninsula and about 1400 islands, of which 169 are inhabited. The land mass is 131,900 sq km and Greek territorial wares occupy 400,000 sq.m km. The islands are divided into six groups: The Cyclades islands, the Dodecanese, the islands of the North – Eastern Aegean, the Sporades, the Ioanian and the Saronic Guld islands.
The two largest islands, Crete and Evia, do not belong to any group. In Greece, no area is much than 100km from the sea. The much – indented coastline has a total length of 15,020km
In addition to 15,020 kilometers of coast line(see TRIP in VIEW) that attract the summer vacationers, a great percentage of the country consists of mountains and hills, making Greece also a distinguished destination for Spring and Winter vacationers.
